Socks for Souls
Brentwood is collecting socks for the Footsore No More program at First United Church at Hastings and Gore in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
This is one of the most comforting gifts we can offer those who are homeless – clean feet with dry socks. You can bring washed, used socks. You can buy packages of sports socks, especially when they are on sale. You can take a run through your neighbourhood thrift shop and see if they have any socks. Perhaps they’ll give you a deal if you buy ‘in bulk.’ Or you might know suppliers of socks to retail outlets who would donate socks to this program. However you get the socks, just bring them to the church or drop them off at the door. We’ll make sure they get to First United
Brentwood’s Socks for Souls Program is featured in our community newspaper.

Number of pairs of socks that we have delivered to First United:
Total for 2015 – 1500 pairs
Total to date for 2016 – 3118 pairs
